For an art contest on Gaia, done with openCanvas 1.1 and MSPaint n____n
Not quite the most polished of pieces--there's probably all kinds of things wrong with it, and the swords look stupid--but I started it just to get myself drawing. Turned out pretty good for doing it at work on the sly with the programs I used. Hurr.
Edit : : The tail is bothering me more and more--it looks like he's stepping on it XD I'll fix it when I get home and reload it later...
Edit Edit : : Ok, fixed the tail, cleaned up the pattern on the chest portion of his tunic, and made his halo more silvery. Hooray!
Thanks! Apparently the artistic liberty I took with them was almost spot-on with what the guy had in mind, and he hadn't even described them o.o; Uncanny.
cool. how good is opencanvas v. photoshop? does it come for mac?

I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.
Sadly, I don't think there's an oC for macs... VS Photoshop, it's an inferior program in a lot of ways--less options, not quite as refined, but it has some nice qualities that PS doesn't have. It is superior in the ways of sketching, for one. No woobly fuzzy lines here, no sir. The line quality is INCREDIBLY smooth in comparison. Much better for clean inking. The paintbrush tool also provides a sort of painterly quality like Painter, which is what I used for most of the coloring in this. PS, in my opinion, is much better suited for crisp, smooth shading.
It's also a much more compact program. Not NEARLY as big as its PS and Painter counterparts, but offering a nice blend of features from each. And less expensive too :3
Don't think this is just another news article with the usual love deviations that have already hundreds of favorites! All of these deviations don't have even 100 favorites & they're the best!
Please watch them closely and show your appreciation! @
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
