HOLY CREPES

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 18, 2008, 5:18 AM
Happy 50k hits to meeeee! I wanted to make a kiriban, but it ninja'd up on me and I'd rather spend my time working on commissions, WHICH ARE ALMOST DONE BY THE WAY.

PROGRESS

1) Jarett - 100% - Finished!
2) Glue - 100% - Finished!
3) Cole <3 - 100% - Finished!
4) KK - 0% :<

As soon as I finish KK's, I'll be opening up 10 slots and offering $50 colored drawings and $25 line art. Same rules apply, single character only, must have references, etc etc. THEY ARE NOT OPEN YET PLEASE DON'T SEND ME ANY NOTES YET D; I'll make a new journal post repeating my commission guidelines with a big list of empty slots as soon as I'm ready :3

In other news, I am BATLEXXY today. Not in full, mind--my blank t-shirt and underoos haven't arrived yet, so I'm wearing substitute batclothes, but the costume is mostly assembled! I'm even wearing my mask 8D so mysterious.

It confuses the coworkers.

Our big moving garage sale is this weekend, which is why I haven't had time to do any proper arting. I predict that next weekend is when I'll be opening up for more commissions, so keep checkin' <3

stuff and stuff

Commissions ARE coming along, but veeeeery slooooowly. Most have at least been started, so here's where we're at right now (note that only two of these are from my devArt commissions):

PROGRESS

1) Jarett - 100% - Finished!
2) Glue - 100% - Finished!
3) Cole <3 - 100% - Finished!
4) KK - 0% :<

I'm still seriously considering expanding my commission options, cos right now I've only got the one ($50 color'd single chara). If I added a $25 option without color, do you think more people would be interested? I would have to do twice as many, but it would make it more affordable, so it might appeal to more people, iunno...

Also, if I do this, maybe I should open more slots at a time? I would have to crack down for serious--which theoretically SHOULD GET EASIER since I've been making good progress on the packing front (the fam's getting ready to move)--but I can't help but think I would be able to save up repair funds faster that way.

good news and bad news

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 10, 2008, 9:12 PM
Good news is I'm two and a half weeks into my new job and it's suiting me very well :3

Bad news is that I've been trying to get myself a car these past two and a half weeks and I'm running into obstacles at every turn--namely with financing. Doesn't seem to matter whether I'm going for something new or used (or very used)--I can't seem to get a loan that will cover the whole thing. Not even close to the whole thing. Like a few thousand short. And I have good credit. It's very dumb.

Other bad news is I've gotten into my first accident EVER--very minor, mind you. It involved me pulling out of my parking spot funny and grazing the corner of the bumper of my mom's minivan across the side of my coworker's sports car.

The bumper has negligible damage (just some barely noticeable scratches), but the sports car needs enough body and paint repairs to run up a considerable cost. My coworker's a very nice, genial guy, so he wasn't angry (which was a huge relief), but I'm still under my parent's car insurance and I'm not about to make them suffer higher premiums because their daughter drives like a retard, so it'll be out of pocket.

Which means I've GOT to kick the commissions into high gear (because although I like my job, they pay total peanuts). Gonna try to finish my current commissions in the next week so I can open a new batch, with maybe more pricing options (I'm thinking of offering $25 b/w sketch commissions). So I guess that is sort of good news? XD

*sigh* Being responsible is very tiring...

FINISHED

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2008, 1:30 PM
LAWD, I thought it would never end x__x

So I'm done now. Like... done. It was such a weird feeling to pull away from Collins (my dorm of almost 5 years) with my last carload of roomstuff and realize I'm never living there again. No more research papers. No more art history exams. No more 48 hour studio stints. This means a couple things:

1) I have more free time. Theoretically, I should be able to finish all my outstanding commissions within the month. Cole, KK, George, Travis, and Deek are the last of my devArt and non-devArt requests. Once I'm finished with those, I'm going to keep commissions closed till I figure out what to do next.

2) I still need to find a job. The one I really want in Florida hasn't fallen through YET, but it is beginning to look questionable. Therefore, time that I might've been spending on finishing the drawings I owe people now has to be spent on updating my portfolios, sending out resumes, and scheduling interviews. I'm going to try to balance the two, but getting a job is kind of on the important side, I'm going to have to start making student loan payments very soon. Feck.

So yeah, that's about where I stand right now. I don't even want to THINK about all the unpacking I have left to do, but that is so on the bottom of my to-do list. Drawrink is mo' better 8D

almost done...

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 25, 2008, 2:45 AM
I GRADUATE IN ONE WEEK.

While I'm sure I'll be retarded busy with jobhunting (ongoing) and packing and post-grad BS, I will no longer have any homework. EVER. This means more time to draw, which means more time to finish my commissions! Thanks to Cole (he's not even on devArt but wtv) and KKitty for being so patient <3

I'll prolly put up the rest of my metalsmithing stuff too in the next week or so, in addition to whatever random crap I can find for updates. ALSO, I MADE AN ANIMATION but parts of it are crap (had NO TIME to finish it properly before I had to turn it in) so I'm going to clean that up a bit before putting it up...
